Twenty-year-old Czech music student, Helena, meets and marries Stefan only months before the outbreak of World War II, in preparation for a career as a concert pianist. Stefan is strongly involved in the underground movement in their homeland, has as Helena's father. In the following years Helen faith and courage are required to extremes, as it faces great personal tragedy and danger, and suffers from loss of family, friends, wealth and careers. Finally, she fled her homeland,Hope for a new life in Australia to begin.
This book is based on the true story of a remarkable woman whose inner strength and courage influenced many based. It was in the hope that others might be similarly inspired to continue to "Keep the Faith", whatever the difficulties, as they are written journey through life.
'All the Days of My Life': Helen finally arrives in Sydney after a long voyage, and will initially be sent to a migrant camp in Bathurst, where she discoveredthat there is little chance of pursuing a musical career in their new country. Instead, it is sent to work in a factory in Brisbane. They tried very hard to improve her English, and moved to Melbourne and Sydney, where they finally start to music again, with the help of good friends, and start teaching. She still longs for a child, and eventually has a son, but stands in the following years, in many deep studies, the test of their faith to the limit. With great courage and new hopeBut, she continues to overcome in the power of God, born of caring for others with genuine compassion, her own suffering.
The sequel to "Helena", "All the days of my life", can also be read as a stand alone novel.
